What is a TFN Number (Toll-Free SMS Number)?
A TFN, short for Toll-Free Number, is a 10-digit phone number that starts with specific three-digit codes like 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833. These numbers allow people to call or text a business without being charged for the communication—costs are instead covered by the business receiving the message or call.
In SMS marketing, TFNs are popular because they can handle both large-scale text messaging and voice calls. They’re also great for nationwide campaigns, offering wide recognition and trust.
ProTexting supports and provides TFN numbers.
Toll-free numbers are available in the United States. They may be used for SMS marketing notifications campaigns. It is usually faster to enable a toll-free number than a short code.
