Amazon lets you buy via text message

Amazon.com has launched another service to help entice you to buy items directly from them even when away from a computer. This latest service, called TextBuyIt, utilises your mobile phone, allowing you to buy items via text message.
Users can text the name of a product, a description, a UPC or ISBN to the service and Amazon will respond if it matches that or similar items. Return text messages contain 2 items at a time and give the user the option of either buying one of them straight away or receiving further messages with more product choices.
Interaction with the service is simple, with the number to dial being “262966″, which spells “Amazon” on a mobile phone keypad. If products are offered they can be bought by replying in a text message with either “1″ or “2″ and more options can be requested by texting “M”.
If a purchase is made the user is asked to text their Amazon account e-mail address and a shipping postcode. Once that information is received the mobile they are using is called and an automated system takes you through the payment and delivery options. Reviewing and tracking orders is available as normal via the Amazon website thereafter.
